a better handoff

An image-to-layers alternative built for the handoff file

Most image-to-layers tools hand you a ZIP of PNGs to reassemble in Photopea, or a re-rendered low-resolution PSD. This writes the real layered PSD directly, at full resolution, so the file is ready to use the moment it downloads.

Try the alternative

PNG stack versus a real PSD

Many converters output a folder of PNG layers plus a manifest and leave the actual PSD assembly to you. Here the PSD is written directly, with named layers and BG, Subject and FX groups already in place, so there is no reassembly step in Photopea or Photoshop.

Full resolution and editable text

Separated pixels are kept at native resolution rather than re-rendered smaller, and detected text comes back as real editable type layers. ORA and a PNG stack are available too, for GIMP, Krita and any tool that does not read PSD.

Private by default

The free tools run entirely in your browser: the image never uploads. Server AI for subject separation and background fill is opt-in and metered, and there are no watermarks on any tier.

Frequently asked

How is this different from the free converters?

It writes a real PSD directly rather than a PNG stack, keeps native resolution instead of downscaling, returns editable text layers, and runs the free tier in-browser for privacy.

Do I still need Photopea?

No. There is no reassembly step; you can open the PSD directly. You can still use Photopea afterwards if you prefer it.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. The in-browser tools are free, with unlimited ORA and PNG-stack export and three PSD exports per day.
